Georgios (George) Sofianos is an entrepreneur who believes that through Innovation and Education we can democratize healthcare in New Europe.

Inspired by his family’s legacy in international business he took over the reins of SOFMEDICA Romania in 1997 after relocating to Bucharest.

George is a graduate of the School of Law, Economics & Political Sciences of the National University of Athens (Law) and of the Harvard Business School (Presidents Program in Leadership). Apart from his native Greek, he is fluent in English, German, and Romanian.

He has created various post graduate programs and scholarships for the benefit of healthcare professionals and students of Medical and Engineering Schools and is currently sitting in advisory boards of companies & organizations interested in the region. George is a founding member of Cleverage Venture Capital and of the Young Presidents Organization Romania Chapter.

Cristina Grigorescu has been part of SOFMEDICA Group since 2001, being one of the most acknowledged members of the Group. She is currently the CFO of SOFMEDICA Group with over 20 years of experience in healthcare and with a holistic understanding of the MedTech and medical services industries. From the foundation of the Group to the mature state it is in today, Cristina has tremendously impacted the growth of all SOFMEDICA business lines, several of them standing as premiers across the New Europe Region. She has also been a member of the leadership teams of successful M&A projects.

Cristina started her career in 1995 acting mainly as a freelance financial consultant and auditor for multinational companies from different fields such as legal advisory, construction, medical services, advertising, or projects under European funding.

Cristina graduated from the Bucharest University of Academic Studies, with a major in Economic Cybernetics and Informatics. She has also successfully completed the program High-Performance Leadership at IMD Switzerland the Venture Finance courses at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

At present, her activity is centered on enhancing financial sustainability and business development in SOFMEDICA Group, developing long-term investment programs, and also having a key role in shaping the future strategy of the Group.

Cristina Miroescu started her career as a pharmacist at Sofmedica. Her main duties comprise file registration, document translation, and authorizations for medical appliances.
Cristina aims to create quality management systems and compliance policies and build cooperative teams that surpass expectations. She also fosters long-lasting relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

Her previous role as a Quality & Regulatory Manager involved integrating and implementing legal and regulatory provisions in the company’s strategy and managing product licenses and authorizations. Besides, quality implementation management and vigilance reporting were some of her main duties.

Her current role as a Compliance Director at SofMedica Group is to consolidate and maintain the company’s reputation by ensuring consistent compliance with the applicable regulations, standards & stakeholders’ requirements to contribute to the business sustainability.

Mihai Bărbuță has been with SOFMEDICA since 2001, being an expert in economics. Throughout his long-lasting mission, Mihai has experienced various roles in different departments, being trained by high caliber and inspiring professionals. His core values were shaped by the healthy and strong organizational culture of SOFMEDICA. Prior to his Business Finance Director position, Mihai has worked in the medical technical and tech financing departments, as well as medical services, medical training, healthcare infrastructure and financing.

Alexandros Diamantis is an accomplished professional with more than 20 years of tenure at SOFMEDICA Group.

Alexandros obtained his degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Bucharest. Leveraging his educational background, he began his journey in the organization as a project coordinator, overseeing various initiatives. His major undertaking was the construction of the SOFMEDICA Romania headquarters building. He evolved professionally alongside the SOFMEDICA Group, ultimately assuming the role of overseeing the Group’s real estate developments and entire asset portfolio across the SEE region.

Since 2005, Alexandros has built unique expertise in healthcare infrastructure, developing a reputation for excellence in the design and project management of medical facilities. His solid track record includes the development of the largest independent network of private dialysis centers in Romania, ambulatory medical centers, treatment and investigation centers, specialized labs, and medical training and education centers, creating an impressive portfolio of projects in the healthcare field.

Currently, Alexandros holds the position of Managing Director at MEDCITY, a premier developer of innovative real estate concepts focused exclusively on the healthcare sector. He leads a team of professionals whose combined expertise and dedication have enabled MEDCITY to manage any project related to healthcare infrastructure and develop the most expansive network of high-standard medical buildings in the SEE region.

Sorin is a seasoned Finance Manager with over 18 years of banking experience, specializing in real estate financing, analysis, and restructuring. He joined MEDCITY nearly three years ago in the position of Finance Manager to leverage his deep understanding of the real estate sector and contribute to business development and financial department organization.

Sorin’s educational background includes a degree from the Faculty of Economic Sciences in Timisoara and a master’s in Business Analysis, Diagnostics, and Evaluation, further solidifying his expertise in real estate finance. His passion for macroeconomics and stock market investments adds a unique dimension to his financial acumen.
